Looking for new ways to improve your website’s search engine rankings? Did you know that adding blogs to your site is a great way to do that? Search engines love blogs because they are full of text and links, and they are continually updated. It is also very easy to optimize a blog site, since it works just the same as a regular website. If you know the rules of search engine optimization, you should be able to optimize your blog so that it ranks higher than some web pages. 

Just as with the optimization of a website, there are two main aspects of blog optimization : keywords and links.

Keywords

• Make sure that you use your targeted keyword in your blog domain.
• Your keywords should also be in your blog headers and in the title of every blog post.
• If you have secondary keywords, put them into the text of your blogs. However, make sure that you only use them a few times. Over-use of secondary keywords will make your text sound awkward and fake.
• Finally, make sure that your keywords are in the text of external links. Use both your primary and secondary keywords for this.

Links

• It is absolutely essential that you have external links pointing to your blog in order to obtain high search engine ranks. There are many different ways to get high-quality links to your blog.
• Design your website so that the link to your blog appears on all of the pages of your site.
• Submit your blog to blog search engines and Internet directories.
• Use trackbacks.
• Post comments in response to posts on other blogs.

Once you have optimized the keywords and links on your blog, you should see increased search engine rankings. To continue to better your rankings, update your blog frequently. Search engines love to evaluate new content, so your rankings have a chance to improve each time there is new information on the site. But most importantly, do not change the domain of your blog. This will cause you to lose some of your readers and possibly your search engine rankings for some time. You have worked too hard on the optimization to allow that to happen. Happy Blogging!
